This is the homepage of Newlands Taekwon-Do Club. The club is based in Clondalkin Leisure Centre at the heart of Clondalkin Village and runs classes in Clondalkin, Lucan & Rathcoole.

The club is a member of the Irish Taekwon-Do Association (ITA) which is an Allied National Association for the International Taekwon-Do Federation (ITF)
in Ireland. Please enjoy our website and for further information or
if you wish to begin training please contact one of the instructors
or call in during class times.

Mr. Smullen Trains & Grades in Israel

Newlands Instructor Mr. Carl Smullen recently completed a Krav Maga training camp in Netanya Israel. Mr. Smullen was 1 of the 5 Irish instructors who took part in the camp which was atended by Krav Maga instructors from all over the world.

Irish Cup Success for NewlandsTaekwon-Do

Competitors from the Newlands Taekwon-Do Team took part in the I.T.A. Irish Cup on the 29th & 30^th of May in the Baldoyle Badminton Arena. The competition which had a very high standard was made up of 374 competitors from 29 clubs representing ITA, RITA, INTA, TKDI, Red Star, Pulse, ETA and NITA all of whom where competing for the title of Irish Cup Champion

Newlands Taekwon-Do Team at the Irish Open 

Newlands Taekwon-Do Club made the trip to Tallaght’s National Basketball Arena for the INTA Irish Open, International on March the 12^th & 13^th. This competition had an extremely high calibre of competition with eight countries represented in the 580 competitors which included several current & former world champions in the blackbelt ranks.

Club Grading in March 2010

Newlands Taekwon-Do hosted a grading on the 10^th of March, under Mr. Stephen Cooley, 6^th Dan.  This Grading was for our 7 – 10 beginner group and 23 students graded for Yellow Tag while one student tested for Yellow Belt.

Eleven competitors from the Newlands Taekwon-Do Team recently tookpart in theI.T.A. Cork Open Championships. It was the first time the club was represented at a Major tournament and was a very enjoyable & succesful day.

Successful Grading at NewlandsTaekwon-Do

Newlands Taekwon-Do hosted a grading on the 10^th of February, under Mr. Stephen Cooley, 6^th Dan. In total 26 students, tested with 9 testing for Yellow Tag, 6 for Yellow Belt & 11 testing for Green Tag. Click here for more

On Saturday 30^th January, Newlands Taekwon-Do hosted two TKD Tigers gradings for our Lucan & Tuesday Clondalkin classes. First up was the Lucan group who were taking their first test for yellow stripe & their Bully Awareness Badge.

Mr. Smullen completes KidsKravMaga Instructor Course

Newlands Taekwon-Do instructor, Mr. Carl Smullen recently qualified as a Kids Krav Maga Instructors having successfully completing a course under Mr. Ze’ev Cohen of the IKMF Global Instruction Team. Mr. Smullen an IKMF qualified Krav Maga Instructor, completed the course which detailed how to adapt the principles of the Krav Maga Self Defence system for children of all ages. More....

Irish Success at World Championships

Newlands Taekwon-Do Instructor Stephen Smullen was part of the Irish team that returned from the World Taekwon-Do Championships in Mar Del Plata, Argentina with a total of 11 medals.
